Natural Thrive Keto ("the app", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, where it goes, how we use it, and what control you have over it. Read it alongside the Disclaimer and the Terms of Service.
If you have questions about this policy or about your data, contact us at help@naturalthrive.net.
The rest of this document explains the details.
The app stores the following on your phone, in encrypted local storage (Hive):
This data does not leave your phone unless you explicitly choose to share it (for example, via the Share My Win feature, which generates an image of your milestone for you to post). We do not upload, sync, or back up this data to any server we control.
You can view, edit, or delete any of this data from within the app.
If you grant permission, the app can read health and fitness data — such as weight, blood pressure, sleep, steps, activity, and calories burned — from Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS, so it can show your trends alongside the data you log. This connection is optional; the app works without it.
Data read from these platforms is used on your device and stored in the app's encrypted local storage (see 1a). It is never uploaded to us or shared with any third party, and it is used only for the in-app health and fitness features you enable. We do not use Health Connect or Apple Health (HealthKit) data for advertising or marketing purposes. You can revoke access at any time in your device's Health Connect or Apple Health settings.
Our use of Health Connect data complies with the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its limited-use requirements.
The app offers several AI-powered features. When you use these features, the relevant content leaves your device and is sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. We do not store a copy of what is sent.
| Feature | What is sent | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| AI meal photo scan | The photo of your meal | Google Gemini (vision API) |
| Ketone strip scan | The photo of your ketone strip | Google Gemini (vision API) |
| Voice meal logging ("Tell me what you had") | A transcript of your spoken description | The speech-to-text engine on your device (typically Apple or Google) and then to Google Gemini for parsing |
Each provider has its own privacy practices, which apply once your content reaches them. You should read their policies if you want to understand how they handle the content:
If you do not want your data sent to AI providers, do not use the AI features. Manual meal entry, barcode scanning, and manual ketone logging do not invoke AI.
When you use the barcode scanner, the app sends the barcode number you scanned to Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org) to look up the product. The barcode number alone is sent — no identifying information about you is included with the request. Open Food Facts is a public, collaborative database operated as a non-profit project.
If you subscribe to the premium tier, your payment is handled by Apple App Store (on iOS) or Google Play (on Android). We never see your credit card or payment details — those are processed entirely by Apple or Google.
The app uses RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to manage subscription state — meaning to know whether you have an active subscription, trial, or free account. RevenueCat receives a unique app-generated identifier and your subscription transaction status from the App Store or Play Store. It does not receive your name, email, or other identifying information from us.
The app downloads our curated food and supplement catalog from Google Firebase (Firestore). This is a one-way, read-only download of public catalog content — no personal data, health data, or account information is ever uploaded to or written to Firebase.
To find and fix bugs, the app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes or hits an error, Crashlytics records a diagnostic report — the error and stack trace, your device model, operating-system version, app version, and a random, app-generated installation identifier — so we can reproduce and fix the problem.
These reports do not include your health data (meals, ketones, weight, readings, or any of the on-device data described in 1a), and the installation identifier is not tied to your name, email, or real-world identity. The underlying Firebase measurement component may also collect limited, aggregated usage and performance data (such as how often the app is opened) for the same diagnostic purpose.
We use this data only to keep the app stable and improve it. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used to track you across other apps or websites. Crash and diagnostic reporting is disabled in development builds.
Because your health data lives on your device and we cannot see it, we do not "use" it in the marketing or analytics sense. Your data is used only by the app, running on your device, to:
For data sent to third-party AI providers (section 1c), our purpose is to receive back an interpretation — food items and macros, ketone readings, etc. — that is then logged to your local storage. The AI provider's purpose for the data they receive is governed by their policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes, ever. Not now, not later, not in any business relationship.
The only situations in which your data leaves your device are:
We may disclose data we hold (which is minimal — see "what we do NOT collect") if required by law, such as a valid court order. Because your health data is stored on your device and not on our servers, we cannot disclose data we do not have.
Because your data lives on your device:
If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data rights (such as the EU under GDPR, or California under CCPA), the rights to access, correct, delete, and port your data apply to any data we hold about you. Since the data is on your device, those rights are exercised by you, in the app.
This app is not designed for children. Do not use the app if you are under 18, and do not let children use the app. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has used the app, please uninstall it and contact us at help@naturalthrive.net.
The app stores your data in local storage on your device. Like any data on a phone, this storage is only as secure as your phone — keep your device locked, keep your operating system updated, and do not install untrusted apps.
We do not run a server that holds your health data, so there is no central server for an attacker to breach. The third-party services described in sections 1c–1g each have their own security practices.
The app and its support team are based in the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., be aware that any data sent to the AI providers, food databases, or subscription services described above may be processed in the U.S. or wherever those providers operate.
We may update this privacy policy as the app evolves or as the law changes. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. For substantive changes, we may also surface a notice within the app at next launch.
